About NURA
NURA is a period care brand built around one simple idea: your period should fit around your life, not the other way around. We want to help people discover the period care options that best fit their body, lifestyle and needs. We believe that finding the right product shouldn't feel confusing, and that everyone deserves access to clear, honest information about the choices available to them. We're working towards this through education, practical guidance and thoughtfully chosen products, helping people feel more confident in managing their periods in a way that works for them. Our goal isn't simply to sell period products. It's to help people spend less time thinking about their periods and more time living their lives.
It's more than a slogan, it's the reason NURA exists.Periods shouldn't stop people from doing the things they love, but for many people they still influence everyday decisions. Whether it's worrying about swimming on holiday, choosing what clothes to wear, planning long journeys, or wondering whether you'll be near a toilet, period care often involves more planning than it should. We believe that finding the right period care for your body and lifestyle can make a real difference. By helping people understand the options available and choose products that genuinely suit their needs, we hope they can spend less time planning around their period and more time getting on with life.
NURA started because I found myself asking a simple question: why does period care so often feel like one-size-fits-all?Growing up in the UK, there was plenty of information about traditional products like pads and tampons, but very little introduction to newer period care options. Unless you actively went looking for them, many people never knew they existed.I also remember watching period product adverts that showed people skydiving, wearing white jeans or carrying on as though their period had completely disappeared because they were using one specific product. While those adverts were trying to show confidence and freedom, they often made it seem as though there was one product that could solve everyone's problems. The reality is much more personal. What works brilliantly for one person might not work for someone else. The goal shouldn't be to convince everyone to use the same product—it should be to help people understand the options available and find the one that genuinely fits their body, lifestyle and needs. That's why I created NURA.
The simple answer is because discovering menstrual discs completely changed how I managed my own periods. Before trying one, I had never heard of menstrual discs, and neither had most of the people I spoke to afterwards. That made me wonder how many people might benefit from knowing they exist, even if they ultimately decide they're not the right product for them.As I looked into the UK market, I realised that while menstrual discs are becoming more widely available in countries like the United States, Canada and Australia, they remain relatively unknown here. There are very few UK brands focused on them, and awareness is still low.For me, menstrual discs represent more than just a product—they're an opportunity to start conversations about period care and introduce people to options they may never have considered before. They're also a practical place to begin NURA's wider mission. Because a reusable menstrual disc can last for several years, I hope that as NURA grows, we'll be able to explore initiatives that help make long-term period care more accessible for people experiencing period poverty.Ultimately, I don't believe menstrual discs are the right solution for everyone. I simply believe everyone deserves the chance to know they exist and make an informed decision for themselves.
No. Menstrual discs are simply where NURA's journey begins.Starting with one product allows us to focus on introducing something that many people in the UK have never heard of, while taking the time to learn from our community and build a brand people can genuinely trust. Our long-term vision is much bigger than a single product. We want NURA to become a place where people can discover a wide range of period care options, access clear and honest educational resources, and feel supported in finding what works best for them.As NURA grows, we'd love to expand our range of period care products, create educational articles and videos, answer common questions, and build a community where people feel comfortable learning and sharing their experiences.Ultimately, our goal isn't to tell people what they should use—it's to help them understand the options available so they can make informed decisions that fit their body, lifestyle and needs.
NURA is still in its very early stages. In fact, the idea for the brand only came to life at the beginning of 2026.Right now, we're focused on listening, learning and building. Through surveys, conversations and our growing waitlist, we're working to understand what people really want from period care and how we can create something that's genuinely useful. Our goal is to launch our first product in 2027, but before we do, we want to make sure we're building a brand shaped by the people it's here to support—not just by the ideas of its founder.
The easiest way to get involved is by joining the NURA waitlist. As we grow, you'll be the first to hear about product development, testing opportunities, educational resources and updates on our journey towards launching our first product.Every survey response, conversation and piece of feedback helps shape the future of NURA, and we're incredibly grateful to everyone who chooses to be part of it.
Most period care brands focus on helping you choose their product. At NURA, we want to help you choose the product that's right for you.We believe period care should be about understanding your options, not being told there's one solution for everyone. That's why education sits at the heart of everything we do.As NURA grows, we hope to introduce innovative period care products from both the UK and around the world, alongside honest educational resources that help people understand how different products work and who they might suit.We also want to help normalise conversations about periods. They're a natural part of life, yet many people still grow up feeling embarrassed to ask questions or explore alternatives. We want to create a community where people feel comfortable learning, sharing experiences and making informed choices without judgement. Our goal isn't simply to sell period products. It's to become a trusted place where people can discover new ideas, learn about their options and find period care that genuinely fits their life.
